Orchis militaris - Helmet Orchid (80 x 65 cm) - Christina Felicitas Teibert - 2020

The Helmet Orchid is one of a total of 26 painted orchid pictures in my project "The Orchids of the Danube-Auen National Park," on which I worked from autumn 2020 to autumn 2023.

The very first painting of my first conservation art project, Orchis militaris, was created in the fall of 2020! The vibrant orange-red colors of the background and the blue-violet and lilac tones of the orchid blossoms illuminate the image and draw the viewer's attention.

The size of the painting makes it ideal as the main picture in a medium-sized room, office, waiting room, etc., which will decorate and enliven it in a cheerful and elegant way.

The height (length) of the work is 80 cm, the width 65 cm. The sealed acrylic painting is mounted on a individually tailored, in art retailers Stretched on a stretcher frame (thickness about 1.8 cm).

I am increasingly using environmentally friendly paints and materials.

I frame, prime, and prime many of my works myself, like this one. I skip the intermediate step of sanding the canvas, which has the effect of making the painting virtually impossible to fake, as the tiny bumps in the canvas's fabric structure can't be replicated. For me, these represent an artistic fingerprint! When looking at the painting in everyday life, these small bumps are not noticeable.
