Scientific "Frame image 3" deals with the topic of apochrome orchids (under-colored individuals). It is one of a total of 26 painted orchid paintings from my project "The Orchids of the Danube-Auen National Park," on which I worked from autumn 2020 to autumn 2023.

The apochrome Ophrys apifera, which can be found in a small population in the Donau-Auen National Park were painted in spring/summer 2022! The vibrant yellow-green and white colors of the orchids shine against the dark green background, in which hints of grass can be seen. The bright colors of the orchid blossoms glow towards the viewer, magically captivating the eye.

The height (length) of the work is 70 cm, the width 64 cm. The sealed acrylic painting is mounted on a individually tailored, in art retailers Stretched on a stretcher frame (approximately 1.8 cm thick). This work is the smallest created as part of this project.

I am increasingly using environmentally friendly paints and materials.

I frame, prime, and prime many of my works myself, like this one. I skip the intermediate step of sanding the canvas, which has the effect of making the painting virtually impossible to fake, as the tiny bumps in the canvas's fabric structure can't be replicated. For me, these represent an artistic fingerprint! When looking at the painting in everyday life, these small bumps are not noticeable.
